The 3D bone sculpture I built especially for this project works really well as a part of the film, but also as it’s own piece. I am very impressed with the outcome, it is 47x15x15cm. The scale & material used were very much out of my comfort zone & not what I am used to working with. It is visually beautiful. It captures the fragility of the human body that I have explored in this project & also changes depending on which lens it is viewed through & which light it sits beneath. I am proud that I was able to create something so ambitious and effective using my own skill-set & research.
Break A Leg Short Film
‘Break A Leg’ is a short film which tells a story of physical healing, informed by my own lived experience & a body of research. The film documents shining light through a 47x15x15cm perspex sculpture, made especially for this project. The film is split into three acts to demonstrate each stage of the healing process & accompanied by theatrical audience sounds to give the feel of a theatre performance, inspired by the “good luck” idiom ‘Break A Leg’.
